.......Here's the deal...?
I guess it proves that we're all still humans. Whichever sin we choose, we choose to be selfish about it. To your answer: " I love him, and he loves me. He really is a good friend. The problem is my best friend hates me for it. In his opinion, I’ve betrayed him by pursuing a friendship with his ex. He says that I should’ve ended all communications with his ex after they broke up, because to me he should’ve been his boyfriend, and that’s it." You met a kind soul who has a peculiar trait but whom you have found warm, supportive, and friendly. You love him, and love is good. Your "friend of 15 years" uses people in relationships and has no soul at all for them, giving s everywhere a bad name. But the key is your statement, "hates me for it." Compare those two: you love this other person because he is a lovable person; your "friend" hates you for loving another human being on the basis of his being a kind human being (ual choices aside.) You love; he hates. That should tell you what to do next, which relationship to favor. My policy is that God lets people live long enough for others to see what they are really about. Looks like one guy took 15 years and another guy took 1 year for you to find out what each is about. Now that you know what each is about, and since God is not considered here, choose the relationship that makes for your personal happiness.
