Equivalent m?

A 1.70g sample of certain metal reacts with acid 2 liberate 380ml H2 gas when collected over H2O@20C, 720torr. What is the equivalent m of the metal. I tried to look over this problem close to fifty times and I have no idea how to even start it. If anyone could give any insight to what I should do, I would be really grateful.
