2 yr old making red poop normal or not?

my 2yr old has been making red poop im sure its not something red he ate either its like little pebbles about the size of a nickel and maybe two or three of those pebbles are red i don't think its blood but i cant be sure i don't know if i should take him to the dr or not is it normal or not thanks for any advice greatly appreciated
